 SANDUGO FESTIVAL

The Sandugo festival is an annual event celebrated to commemorate the blood-sealed friendship treaty between Datu Sikatuna, a chieftain in Bohol and Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, a Spanish conquistador. Various programs and activities were also held during the event. The celebration of this festival starts off with a holy mass followed by a motorcade of floats. It also showcases a street dancing competition and a beauty pageant which is usually held on the 3rd or 4th Sunday of the month of July.

BANIG FESTIVAL

Showcasing the Cebuano’s culture, tradition, delicacies and local products, the Banig Festival is a fiesta celebrated every 3rd day of July. The festival activities highlight banig or mats; a popular product of the province. The celebration highlights a pageantry of students and town locals dressed in colorful banig showing its different uses. The parade also features magnificent floats prepared by the different barangays of the town. Several other activities like sports fest, beauty pageant and contests were also held during the festival
FEAST OF OUR LADY OF PIAT
July 2 | Cagayan


The annual feast day of Our Lady Of Piat in Cagayan is observed every 2nd day of July. This catholic event is highlighted by a procession of the image of Virgin mary, more popularly known in the province as Our Lady of Piat.

PINANGAT
Also known as Laing, pinangat is a native dish made from ground meat or seafood wrapped in whole gabi leaves (taro) cooked in gata (coconut milk) and seasoned with chili.

MAZAPAN DE PILI
 A favorite pasalubong treat, mazapan de pili is a sweet delicacy made with finely chopped pili nuts mixed with fresh milk and sugar.

BIGGS DINER
 If you are skeptical on trying local food, Bigg’s Diner would be the best place for you to dine. Bigg’s is a famous fast food chain in the Bicol region which serves an array of delectable dish including its house specialties “Crispy Chicken” and “Crispy Cajun”.
