Miss Universe 2016 winner: Miss France Iris Mittenaere
The long wait is over, as the world (universe rather) gives a warm welcome to the newly-crowned Miss Universe - Miss France Iris Mittenaere. Held last Sunday, January 29 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, 23-year old French beauty queen is a firm advocate for dental and oral hygiene, and is pursuing a degree in dental surgery. During the coronation night she expressed her love for all things French particularly its cuisine. The last time France took home the coveted crown was in 1953, making Mittenaere’s win one for the books as she broke the 63-year title drought for France. Among the 86 candidates of the annual pageant, Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar and Miss Haiti Raquel Pellisier respectively took home the second and first runner-up titles for this years.
