As the sun began to rise, the group was already on the road to Puerto Princesa International Airport for their flight to Tagbilaran, Bohol, via Philippine Airlines.
The Mabuhay Lounge offered the utmost convenience while waiting for the boarding time. The chill vibe, assortment of snacks, comfortable seating and working places, and access to WiFi at the lounge provided the passengers of Philippine Airlines a more convenient and relaxing means of passing the time before their flights. It was the perfect time for our social media ambassadors to get their fingers working as they update their whereabouts and experiences from the previous travels.
What made the group fall in love with Bohol the moment they arrived? It’s the very warm and personal welcome of Pamilacan Tours owner, Mr. Joselino “Jojo” Baritua, together with his dynamic team.
Upon arrival at the resort, the captivating view of the infinity pool which was the focal point of Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa, had the group in awe. Not to mention, it was difficult to determine the best thing about the stay – the homey villa, or balai, and its private plunge pools (or perhaps the open-air bathroom with Jacuzzi); the amazing food; or their outstanding spa service, as all these were top contenders of the heart. Above all these, the warm smiles and unrivaled Filipino hospitality service, was the icing on top of this resort stay.
What started as a gloomy morning didn’t last too long as the sun started to shine on the jade green waters of Loboc River, the first destination for a fun-filled day. Upon arrival at SUP Tours Philippines Paddle Center, everyone loved its chill and natural ambiance. What looked like little village amid a forest was the perfect scene for the team to put their photography skills into action.
While others were signing up forms before the activity, some enjoyed lounging in some of the native houses where guests can also stay in, and few busied themselves exploring the center. Soon as everyone had registered for the stand-up paddling, the team assembled for the briefing before boarding the raft that will cruise the majestic Loboc River.
For every turn, there was nothing but the awe-inspiring abundance of nature. The raft pulled to a stop and steadied itself near a big rock across some lovely, little waterfalls. The guides plunged into the waters while others started to unload the paddle boards into the river. Ready to get into some action with nature, one by one they disembarked the raft and settled themselves on their boards.
The raft glided along the river to where the group will transfer to another raft for the lunch cruise. Others hopped back into the raft, while some opt to take on an adventure by paddling to their heart’s desire. Apart from paddling, an interesting part along the way lets you swing from a thick rope into the river. Also, a stop along the way offers a short cultural performance where Don Benjamin, Liane Valenzuela and Ashley Colburn gladly joined the locals. It was truly an awesome experience for everyone.
Lunch time! Nothing beats enjoying a local Boholano feast on a boat.
Tired and full but happy, the team made their way to see fantastic Chocolate Hills. Taking 223 steps to the observatory deck offered a rewarding feeling as the sight of the remarkable formation was indeed something to behold. Despite the many visitors at the place, each one got their opportunity for a cool photo but it was a fact that YouTube couple Aspyn Ovard and Parker Ferris was a crowd favorite.
Off to the Tarsier Sanctuary they went! Among the excited ones to meet the furry little friend was Don Benjamin who constantly expressed his eagerness the moment he arrived on the island.
The stunning sight of high-rising Mahogany trees was too hard to resist for a lost-themed kinda shot.
Two days isn’t enough to get a feel of Bohol’s many charms. Surely, the group’s experience was extraordinary one and has left its mark in their hearts. After lunch rolled in, it was time to bid this amazing island farewell and make way to a journey on the sea to the majestic island of Cebu.
