Travel Glossary (part 2)

Landmark - a structure of representation generally depicting cultural, historical, or architectural significance
Visa - official authorization/endorsement on a passport by the proper authorities permitting the bearer to enter, leave, and stay for a specified duration in a certain country
Ticket - travel document that gives the traveler the right to travel to a place via public transportation
Insurance - guaranteeing the protection of safety; coverage by contract whereby one party undertakes to indemnify or guarantee another against loss by a specified contingency or peril
Destination - a place to be traveled; part of a travel itinerary
Luggage - suitcase or other types of bags where traveler pack their belongings
Language - method of communication words, pronunciation, and varied combinations shared and understood by a community
Add-on - services on top of the basic travel reservation
Cruise - a voyage by any water vessel for pleasure/vacation and docking in at various destination points
Flight - a trip made through the air by means of planes
Traveler - an individual who often engages on a journey
Passport - a formal, official document issued by an authorized official of a country to one of its citizens that is usually necessary for exit from and reentry into the country, that allows the citizen to travel in a foreign country in accordance with visa requirements, and that requests protection for the citizen while abroad
Indirect flight - a flight between two points that includes a change in plane or refueling of aircraft.
Layover - a stage or period in between points of destination; a stop at a hub while waiting for connecting flight
Outbound travels - travels/tours outside the country of residence whether for business, leisure, or other purposes.
