Travel Review: The Eco-Friendly Astoria Palawan

This beachfront resort in Brgy. San Rafael, Puerto Princesa is one of the newest luxury addition to the Astoria Hotel and Resort properties. Nestled along the shores of Honda Bay, Astoria Palawan is a sprawling 5-hectare mango orchard resort showcasing the natural characteristics of the province. Astoria Palawan being an eco-friendly resort upholds the title of Palawan having recognized as a sustainable destination.
Upon our group’s arrival, we were welcomed with refreshing drinks and a cultural performance by the native Palawenos. The lobby, with its interesting interiors and fixtures mostly made of natural elements, exude the authentic charm of our destination.

Soon as we got the keycards to our rooms, we were all excited to see how they look like. The moment we got in, it was like stepping into a world of eye-popping details blending with the vibrant colors of tropics. The lively and refreshing vibe of the resort’s private accommodation whisks you into an island paradise that is truly Palawan. Above all else, convenience was the core of the room’s design. Complete with the modern comforts of control air-conditioning, LCD television with cable TV, complimentary internet access, a kitchenette, and a spacious work desk. The en suite toilet and bath with contemporary-styled amenities surely do not disappoint! Our room has access to the deck, perfect for some early morning sun lounging nearby.

Dining at the resort’s restaurant is truly a delight. Set in the middle of the resort grounds, the dining pavilion makes a great place for family and friends to hang out even after a feast. During our stay, one of the things we all enjoyed was the variety of dishes served especially at the buffet breakfast. With its wide selection of local and international fare, even the most discerning palette is sure to be satisfied.

The stunning infinity pool, facing the Honda Bay, is indeed a favorite spot among guests especially at night with surrounding dim lights. One of the new highlights of the resort is the Palawan Waterpark, which was still under construction during our stay. The 4,000-sqm water park is inspired by the wonders of Palawan with its facilities designed to feature fun attractions like water slides, a lazy river, wave pool, a restaurant, and more exciting facilities, both the young and young at heart will definitely enjoy.
