Travel Tips: Simple Scarf Styles

The scarf is a very small yet important part of any chilly day outfit, keeping you warm while giving a
bland outfit the color or accent it needs to really stand out. Not sure how to tie that scarf, though?
We’ve got some super simple styles to really make your fashion sense show without all of the
complicated knots and bows.

Here are five low-key scarf wrapping skills you can sport on your next day out.

Shawl Wrap
Not all scarves necessarily have to be worn around the neck. If its large and wide enough when spread
out, you could easily use it as a colorful shawl. While it may not keep specific parts of your body warm,
having some thick cloth cover your shoulders may fend off the light chill of an early morning on the front

Cozy Neck Wrap
The art of keeping cozy is all about keeping things tight and well-wrapped, and nothing exemplifies that
more than this scarf style. Simply wrap the entirety of the scarf around your neck as much as you can,
adjusting the tightness to your liking. Make sure both ends of the scarf can touch as you will tie them into
knots and hide it in one of the scarf folds, completing the smooth overall look.

Classic Loop
This scarf style is so simple, anybody can get it right on your first try. First put the two ends of the scarf
side by side, forming a long “U” shape. Wrap the folded scarf around your neck, then insert the two ends
through the “U” and pull as tightly as desired. It makes for a very simplified and smart look that can fit
with a lot of great winter styles.

Front Knot
Another super simple scarf tying technique is to simply tie it in a loose knot in your font. Despite the
straightforward nature of this technique, how tightly you tie the knot (and how high it is) affects the
overall look. Tie it a little tightly towards the neck and it will look as cozy as the neck wrap but leaving it
a little loose can give you a laid-back preppy look as well.

Loose Neck Wrap
Arguably the most low maintenance of the looks in this list. The loose neck wrap is simply just loosely
wrapping your scarf around your neck. No knots, no folds, no fancy wrappings. If you want to be sure
it stays your neck, flip the ends of the scarf over your shoulder or secure it with a cute pin if you aren’t
planning to take it off, like during a short walk or when you need to be outside for a little while.

There may be a lot of different and simple styles to select, but what’s most important is  fine balance
between how comfy you are with the way you wear the scarf plus how well it goes with your current
outfit. Sometimes, the most important fashion accessory to wear is confidence… along with the
feeling of relief you get while protected from the chilly winds around you.
